"The devil has told you!"

Unfortunately I don’t have that much spare time right now to work on some new sketches, although I have already planned what I intend to draw next.
That’s why I upload another old artwork (DinA5, 80g, colored pencils).

This one has been used for a collection of postcards showing fairytail-scenes. I chose to draw “Rumpelstiltskin”, because his temper and his size, of course, remind me of my own.

Some request for a teammate

A good friend of some teammate of mine will soon celebrate her wedding. According to my teammate she's into hiking so he asked me if I could draw some simple cartoon of a bride hiking with typical hiking boots and a big backpack.

Here's the outcome.
Sketch
Final draft
Final result

I'm not entirely satisfied with it. It shows that my break from drawing has left its mark. I need do try harder to get better results in terms of proportion and poses - even if it was only a simple cartoon style drawing.

The best time for pointless sketches

The best time for pointless sketches is definitely during boring football matches. You don't really miss something important while concentrating on your drawings and you're still able to always put your equipment aside when you hear the commentator raising his voice.

Here are some more or less successful results - drawn with ballpen in some old sketchbook.

1st pic is an old pic

Since I have yet to restart drawing and sketching on a regular basis I decided to use some older artworks in order to fill this blog with content.

I drew this eye in 2006 with colored pencils on 80g DinA4 paper for selling it as a print at a big german book fair where I participated as a kind of freelancing illustrator for some years. Unfortunately the major part of the audience consisted of anime/manga fans, so my artworks didn't do so well with the disguised and giggling pre-teen girlies.
I should have switched to drawing homosexual vampires instead to make a truckload of money - but my stubborn pride held me back.

Welcome to my new artblog!

Before my life as a common jobholder and husband, drawing was an important but time consuming part of my life.
Now some friends of mine have motivated me to pick up the pencil again.

I will have to wait and see how long this motivation is going to last.

In the meantime, feel free and take a look. Comments and constructive criticism are very welcome.
